Istra Cement is the member of HeidelbergCement Group since 1993.
Istra Cement, located in Pula, Croatia, is the world's second largest producer of calcium aluminate cement. This special type of cement is produced by melting limestone and bauxite. With special properties of high early strength, high refraction and high sulphate resistance, it is used in a wide variety of applications in the refractory industry, building chemistry industry, mining industry, and other industries.
Today, Istra Cement produces and markets four types of products: Istra 40, Istra 45, Istra 50 and Istra 55, named according to their aluminium content. These products are sold in more than 40 countries around the world through the company's sales offices in Hamburg (Germany), Singapore, and Allentown, Pennsylvania (USA).
Following the business standards development, Istra Cement achieved in 2002 and has been successfully maintaining the IMS standards (ISO 9001:2000 and 14001:1996).
HeidelbergCement's ready mixed concrete activities in Croatia are carried out by TBG Beton, operating five plants in Vinkovci, Vukovar, Đakovo, Slavonski Brod, and Osijek, and by TBG-Strabag, operating one plant in Zagreb.
