HeidelbergCement is a member of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and, together with other leading cement companies worldwide, we have made a joint commitment to address the sustainability issues of our industry in a common action program over the next five years.  

We implement high environmental standards at all our international locations, including the newly acquired companies of Central Europe East, installing top technologies to reduce emissions and noise, decrease energy consumption, and utilize alternative fuels and materials.  When using natural resources, great attention is paid to reclaiming quarries.  Most of our cement plants in CEE have obtained the environmental standard certification ISO 14001.

We are building a new image of the cement industry in Central Europe East, and we want to establish close and positive relationships with our neighbors and with responsible authorities.
